HERE'S THE LATEST NEWS FROM THE ANACAPA BREWING COMPANY!
Look for another BrewMaster dinner in the Spring of 2006. Our last one was a great success - check out the news from the last dinner:
Back by popular demand it's another of our festive
Summer Brewmaster Dinners! On Monday, August 29, 2005, we're bringing back former Anacapa Brewing
Company Executive Chef Levon Wallace, now Sous Chef at
the Oak Grill at the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa, for an
encore performance. Levon will team with new ABC
Brewmaster Eric Rose, a Gold Medal winner at last
year's Great American Beer Festival in Denver (more
details on the change in brewers follows) to produce a
5-course dinner served with 5 different ABC ales. The
menu is detailed below.
Since production costs on this dinner are lower this
time around we've decided to reduce the price of the
dinner to only $45 per person (plus tax and gratuity).
Reservations are a must and require a nonrefundable
$25 deposit, so makes sure your plans are firm for
that date. The theme for this dinner is "Around the
World in 5 Courses."
First Course: American Wheat Ale
Ciabatta Costini with Rock Shrimp, Tender Arugula and

GOLD MEDAL WINNER ERIC ROSE TAKES CHARGE OF THE BREWERY
Splitting duties as the brewer at the Santa Barbara
Brewing Company Eric Rose has tabbed as the new
Brewmaster for the Anacapa Brewing Company. We won't
mind sharing Eric as he's a very talented brewer who
won a Gold Medal at the GABF in 2004 on his first
entry into that prestigious judging and beer tasting
event held annually in Denver. The response to Eric's
initial line-up of beers has been overwhelmingly. Many
of our regular beer connoisseurs have welcomed the
change and are enjoying many new styles we've never
brewed before in addition to Eric's version of our
flagship styles. The first beer he brewed, Riptide
Ale, a hopped-up version of a red ale, was a big hit
and due to its popularity has returned to the taps
this week. We've just finished up a true
Bavarian-style Hefeweizen and a pale ale we called 'C'
Street Strong Ale.
Currently on tap is a hophead-pleasing IPA, a Scotch
Ale, a Belgian Gold spiced with coriander and white
pepper, the newly popular Riptide Ale and an
American-style wheat ale. We will probably have an IPA
on tap more often than not since that style is
frequently requested. Utilizing a new strain of yeast
we will have the ability to expand our beer horizons.
Upcoming ales include a Milk Stout, a refreshing
extra pale ale ad another batch of Santa Rose Red. The
staff and I are very excited about serving you a new
and exciting line-up of hand-crafted ales.
SUMMER ART WALK IS SATURDAY NIGHT APRIL 29TH
We will be displaying the photography of local artist
Josh Rosenthal, who happens to be a staff member here
at the brewpub. Make sure to pop in a take a look at
Josh's images of local subjects. For ten years the
City of Ventura Cultural Affairs Division has
presented seasonal ArtWalks that have attracted up to
thirty thousand visitors annually to a self-guided
walking tour that brings together area artists,
studios, galleries, downtown merchants and visitors of
all ages in a celebration of visual art.
The ArtWalk spans the city’s entire Cultural District
– more than ten city blocks of historic downtown
Ventura – plus Ventura Avenue and celebrates the
Ventura County’s vibrant professional community of
artists. Over 150 Ventura County artists will display
artwork at more than 70 downtown locations, including
art galleries, working studios and "gallery-for-a-day"
venues inside businesses and restaurants.
The day of free events also includes live outdoor
musical entertainment and performances, kids’
activities, and free shuttle service to transport
patrons. Live music and performances at various
locations in the Downtown Cultural District will have
you dancing down the sidewalk while you are looking at
art.
